d Hemp fiber can be used to make textiles and clothing

People have used hemp to make clothing and rope for literally thousands of years. Prohibition obliterated the American hemp industry. To date consumer interest in hemp is ahead of the market. We’d like to see that change. Soon!

Hemp doesn’t require the pesticides associated with cotton. It can be grown by conventional farmers in rotation with their other crops. The Catch 22 is that there are no farm tools or proccessing facilities to handle to potential demand. LeBlanc CNE is trying to close that gap and help build an American hemp textile industry. The key is identifying the right fiber cultivars and grow them in large enough amounts to be profitable. It’s our goal to make the Pacific Northwest an international center of hemp R&D and production.

In addition to hemp we’re exploring flax to be blended with hemp. Linen + Hemp = a match made in heaven
